Alfred Lord Tennyson - " The Lady of Shallot
I try to make the poetry titles match up with the content. I haven’t a clue about this one. It's a famous poem, perfect for reading aloud. Only Robert Service is more read aloudable. (I've been working on a Robert Service/Dr Dre mashup.
“There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold; Bitch-
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,

Plants play an important role in the Tennyson the poem. Crops in the field are used to describe the passage of time. Mostly though, I love that line “ I am half sick of shadows.” Indeed.
Hey look! There's a Mule and his Minions up on that hill
Tree Peony Action. .

There is a fine grower in New Jersey who named his nursery “Peony’s Envy”. Beautiful facility.

Amazing things are happening with the clematis collection.

I love what Auden said about Tennyson, that he has "had the finest ear, perhaps, of any English poet; he was also undoubtedly the stupidest.”
I have clemantis in my flowerbeds. It's one of my favorite colorful contributions to the landscape.
The vivid blooms you've included here for our enjoyment are beautiful, bright inspirations for us all regarding colorful potential additions to our own gardens or more humble window boxes.
