4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) is one of my favorite songs by the Boss and I always loved this line, especially the way he delivers it: Sandy, that waitress I was seeing lost her desire for me.
On another whimsical note, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy at age 8 recorded the Born to Run album on a cassette and told his classmates it was him on the recording. Story in the link.
I catch them whenever they come by, been to three of their Solid Sound festivals. They are my favorite band at this point in my life. I love the work you do here.
I was just a country kid driving way to fast in a 68 Oldsmobile (that was bigger than my first apartment) down gravel roads between the cornfields. "The Wild, The Innocent etc" was the first Springsteen I owned on 8- track and could listen to in a car.
"Well like a cool Romeo he made his moves, oh she looked so fine
Like a late Juliet she knew he’d never be true but then she really didn’t mind
Upstairs a band was playin’, the singer was singin’ something about goin’ home
She whispered, “Spanish Johnny, you can leave me tonight but just don’t leave me alone”
The Rubes love fireworks. The week before the Forth, there's usually a nightly burst of pyrotechnics from those that just can't wait. It goes on for a few days after the holiday, until they run out. This year has been quiet so far. They are either learning restraint (not likely) or the fireworks prices have been tariffed into prohibitively high.

Wilco is a fine band to see live!

I saw them in the early aughts. I don't remember the opening act. The show was fine! What a tight band.
Thank you! Doing this keeps me sane.
"Incident on 57th Street" did it for me.
